Taking care of loved ones with Alzheimer’s is difficult.

The Broyles Foundation supports Alzheimer’s caregivers in crisis, and the businesses that those caregivers depend on. We understand the delicate balance between work and caregiving responsibilities, and we want to make this difficult period easier for everyone involved. Your business can become one of an ever-growing list of dementia-friendly organizations: let us help you get there.

57% of respondents to our questionnaire reported alterations to their work schedule, resulting in increased workload early in the morning or late in the evenings. Of these, some reported having to take a temporary leave of absence or quit their job.

By 2025, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias is estimated to reach 7.1 million– a 40 percent increase from the 5.2 million age 65 and older affected in 2015 (from: Dementia-Friendly America).

Dementia-Friendly Partners

Be there for Alzheimer’s caregivers in their time of need.

Providing comfort to Alzheimer’s caregivers isn’t just the right thing to do – it also makes financial sense.

The Broyles Foundation is proud to announce Dementia-Friendly Partners, a trademarked seal of approval for products that are helpful to the care and wellbeing of those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The seal certifies and identifies products as “dementia friendly,” which helps take the stress out of decision making for caregivers.

  • Learn how to create ‘dementia-friendly’ products to provide maximum safety in places of care.
  • Provide safe spaces for individuals with dementia, and learn how to support their everyday needs.
  • Fulfill a critical economic role for a population of people that is expected to rapidly increase over the next decade.

The last thing caregivers need to worry about is the quality of care from members of their community.

Most caregivers, even those providing in-home support, lean on the services of their community. The Broyles Foundation helps these caregivers by pointing them to preferred businesses and organizations. By becoming a Dementia-Friendly Partner, you can become an organization that caregivers know they can trust.

Be the first place caregivers turn when looking for support.

This past year, over 60% of Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers maintained at least part-time employment while providing care.

Becoming a caregiver affects every part of you life.

Caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s or another dementia is arduous work, especially for those who are required to maintain prior employment during this time. Time and energy constraints lead to increased stress, loss of sleep, and total disruption of daily routine. Though many people are able to decrease their hours and rearrange their schedules, not all can, and even those who are able to often suffer economic difficulties as a result.

Dementia services and care are part of a multi-billion dollar industry built around caregivers, either in the home or in medical facilities.

Providing care for loved ones is hard enough without these difficulties. Be there for the caregivers around you.

The Broyles Foundation partners with businesses to provide in-house resources, training, education, and counseling for employees dealing with caregiving situations. We provide a game plan of practical, life-changing strategies based on our own experiences in caring for our loved ones and decades of caregiver support.

  • For employers and business owners, the Broyles Foundation offers a one-hour course (‘The Broyles Academy‘) to help employees respond warmly and effectively when serving those who are living with dementia. We help create a friendly, calm atmosphere for all involved.
  • For residential customers, we offer Caregiver Coaching and Support Groups.
